Steps to follow

  1. 01

    Open iPhone Settings

Find DailyWander in Settings and open its Location access options.

  2. 02

    Allow the needed access

Choose the location setting that supports recording during an active walk. iOS wording can vary by version.

  3. 03

    Keep Precise Location enabled

Precise Location usually produces a more useful route trace than an approximate location.

  4. 04

    Run a short test

Start a brief walk, lock the screen for part of it, finish, and inspect the route in History.

What can interrupt recording

Force-quitting DailyWander, disabling Location Services, using restrictive permission settings, Low Power Mode, poor satellite visibility, or device resource limits can reduce the route recorded in the background.

Background location is used for the active walking experience. Review the privacy policy for the current data-handling details.

If you prefer not to allow background access

You remain in control of iPhone permissions. Be aware that the route trace may pause or become incomplete when DailyWander is not active on screen.

FAQ

Common questions

Why does the route have a straight line or gap?

The iPhone may have missed location samples because of permissions, GPS conditions, power restrictions, or the app being stopped.

Does Precise Location matter?

It generally helps produce a more useful recorded route than approximate location.
