Steps to follow

  1. 01

    Check Precise Location

Open iPhone Settings for DailyWander and confirm that location access is precise enough for route recording.

  2. 02

    Give GPS a moment

At the start, remain outside with a clearer sky view for a short time before relying on the route trace.

  3. 03

    Carry the iPhone consistently

Deep bags, buildings, tunnels, dense tree cover, and urban canyons can reduce satellite accuracy.

  4. 04

    Review the saved route

After finishing, compare the map with the path you actually walked and note recurring problem areas.

Why GPS traces move or cut corners

Consumer GPS is an estimate. Buildings, trees, weather, device position, and limited satellite visibility can move recorded points or connect gaps with straighter segments.

DailyWander can only work with the location samples iOS provides. Small differences between the walked path and recorded map are normal.

Route planning and route recording are different

The generated route uses mapping data to suggest a loop. The completed route trace uses location samples recorded during the walk. A good planned route can still have an imperfect recorded trace if GPS conditions are poor.

FAQ

Common questions

Can DailyWander guarantee exact GPS distance?

No. GPS and mapping data are estimates, and recorded distance can vary with conditions.

Why does the recorded route differ from the planned route?

The recorded trace follows available location samples, while the planned route is based on mapping data.
